Yum. This really sums up the experience. Recently I had a chance to sample some BBQ treats at Barque. We were a diverse group and we were looking for something fun, different and casual to please everyone. This crowd is a little restaurant wary, but Barque fit the brief perfectly. The service was outstanding and the food was awesome.
We chose to sample the tasting menu, 10 courses of BBQ bliss for $35 per person. Barque does a great job providing a diverse menu, without over doing it on the meat. This is way more than your standard chicken and ribs joint. Highlights: divine chicken wings, tender brisket, BBQ’d baby bok choy and amazing meatloaf with a killer cherry chutney. Thanks to Charles who kindly stepped out of the kitchen to share his recipe with me. We had a really good time, and the family style service added a fun and homey angle, sharing plates and inviting a lot of sampling and finger licking. I will definitely be back for another visit. Check out my snaps, my iPhone really didn’t do the food justice, but you get the idea. Make sure you get there soon!
