Nads and I had a chance to attend the Spun Goods event last week in support of Spun Studio, a social enterprise of Sistering, an organization that serves homeless, marginalized, and low-income women in Toronto.
Spun Studio is a testament to the power of community and crafting in building a sense of belonging as well as increased self-worth and self-esteem. Women are offered training in sewing, knitting, and micro business development. And a group of bloggers stepped up to offer their design skills and collaborate with the women to create one of a kind projects.
Check out the awesomeness that happened when these talented women came together. The projects were beautiful. You can imagine the work and skill that went into creating these pieces.
Hat’s off to all these bloggers for supporting such a worthwhile project. It’s a reminder to all of us of the power of collaboration, and support, and the cool things that can happen when you put a bunch of women together.
Big congrats to Amy at Love On Sunday, Jenn at Rambling Renovators, Britt at My Daily Randomness, Renee at Re: Creative, and Robin & Shannon at Hoopla Event Styling and Design for helping to create these beautiful things.
