DIY Dollar Store Instant Spring Boot Tray

Posted by Dani on April 4, 2012

Nothing makes me happier than finding a deal. Except maybe finding an easy and cute DIY project. This idea scores on both counts. At 30 seconds tops to pull it together, you can add a little spring touch to your front door in no time.

I found these little faux-grass tiles at my local Dollarama. They were too cute to pass up! I thought they’d be great to use for shoes and boots by my front entrance. Dollarama also had these square white plates that fit them perfectly – voilà, instant boot tray! At only $8, this is adorable AND cheap.

This is what the grass tile looked like:

I’ve included a detailed how-to. Get ready – this is highly technical. Here goes:
1. Pick up a grass tile.
2. Put it on the plate.
3. Repeat.

What’s not to love?

I think you cut them to size to fill any type of boot tray, but I took the easy way out and used them as-is. I also used them on my table with some coloured eggs to make a centerpiece at Easter. Can’t go wrong at Dollarama!
