Doesn’t Everyone Need A Secret Treehouse?

Posted by Dani on May 16, 2012

There are some days when I would be satisfied with a secret lean-to made from a few discarded wood scraps, just to have somewhere to escape for a little peace and quiet. But this beautiful hidden tree house would be my dream come true – a secret retreat up in the branches of a towering hemlock that is at home in the pages of Dwell Magazine. The story captured my imagination. Joel Allen hiked into the woods around Whistler and built himself this secret hideaway on crown land. The design is artistic and stunning, and the fact that it is a hidden secret is magical. I can picture one sitting up in the trees in my backyard. Although then my family might not see me much!

this is such a great idea! why don’t we have one of these. Do you have any diy ideas for building a playroom or even a treehouse for kids…that’ll be pretty amazing!

We actually do have a treehouse in the back for the kids, but it’s a pretty basic one. We did add a few fun details, like a front porch, an escape door with a rope ladder, and 2 hammock chairs for them to hang out in. But it is nowhere near as amazing as this one! I think if I had one like this, I might move out there myself!

Do you have a DIY for the tree house? I’d love to see it ! How long did the whole process take? We helped out neighbor to build one and it took about 2 weekends to finish up.
