Fall Harvest

Although I am blessed with a large backyard, I don’t really have many open sunny areas where I can grow vegetables. I compensate a little by growing what I can in pots on the deck and around the yard. This year, trying to expand my efforts, I created a new area for about 8 large pots where I could try my hand at kale, beets, celery, parsley and swiss chard.

Things seemed to be going great at first, until some voracious creature discovered my tender new plants and proceeded to feast on them nightly. I gave up trying to fight nature, and decided the poor hungry thing probably needed them more than I did. Luckily the night bandit left a little for me, and recently I have been able to harvest a few things, mainly tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, raspberries, and lots of chili peppers. Have a look!
