Looking for Family Day Weekend Fun?

How about an animation workshop at the National Film Board Mediatheque? The NFB’s downtown public access point offers comfortable digital viewing stations giving instant access to over 6000 films from the NFBs collection, hands-on animation workshops for families, and screenings of family friendly films in their cinema. And did I mention it’s all FREE? My kids still remember trying some of the NFB clay animation workshops years ago, and being able to take home a little animated short film that they created. Some programs require registration – check their website for details. The NFB is located in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment District, so cap off your family outing with a walk along Queen Street and a hot chocolate from one of the local cafes. Or maybe take a walk east to Nathan Phillips Square and get in a family skate before the weather warms up. Either way, you’re guaranteed a great (and free!) day of family fun.
