There’s something invigorating about new beginnings.
I’m the kind of person who gets excited about cracking open a new notebook and looking at the first blank page. There’s just such a sense of possibility. It’s the same feeling I get in January at the beginning of each new year, when I think about what I’d like to do with the months ahead.
For those of us in school or with school-aged children, September feels the same way. The school calendar defines our year just like the seasons do. Summer was great, but suddenly its over, and now it’s time to let go of the lazy days and think about the school year to come. Its time for new backpacks and school supplies and fresh new clothes, and somehow that’s inspiring.
I’m thinking about what I will accomplish this year. I have lots of new ideas that could lead to some exciting changes for me. The kids will grow so much during the school year, what about me? And what about you?
What would you like to get out of this coming year?
