Now anyone that knows me knows I don’t have much of a sweet tooth. There are a couple of things I do enjoy, but I’m more of a ‘bite’ kind of girl when it comes to dessert. Let’s just say that if it comes down to another serving of pasta/steak/ribs/ whatever or saving room for dessert, it’s really a no-brainer for me, I rarely choose to end my meal on a sweet note. Needless to say, it is pretty difficult to get me excited about something sweet. And it’s actually damn near impossible to get me to rave about something sweet but Glory Hole did it for me.
Yes, its been said a million times this past year, doughnuts are the new cupcakes and gourmet versions and twists are popping up everywhere but Glory Hole puts everything I’ve seen to shame.
This is pure doughnut heaven with a twist to appeal to everyone’s taste. Not to mention the shop is really adorable and the people who work there are really sympathetic to the time and torture it takes to choose. Although you can never pick just one, it’s impossible.
In the charming hood of Queen West and Roncesvalles, don’t walk rather RUN and check it out. Guilty secret – we really went all out and tried 7 (couldn’t even pick 6!). Here’s some of my highlights. Sigh, thank goodness they are sooo far away.
