Happy 2014

Happy 2014
It’s been pretty quiet around the blog these days. The ice storm and it’s aftermath have put me on a bit of a low tech track these days. Christmas around here felt a little pioneer-like, as we concerned ourselves with things like heat and light, and turning fallen trees into firewood.

It didn’t really help that the theme of Christmas turned out to be coziness this year, with all kinds of WARM things finding their way under the tree – flannel shirts, fleece bedsheets, sheepskin mitts and slippers, down vests, and red wool long johns. There was even a hand-knit wool blanket under the tree. I didn’t really plan it that way – it just kind of worked out. After the cold uncertainty of the ice storm, it felt great to wrap ourselves in all our warm and cozy clothes and head up north to the family cottage for some winter R&R. I wish I had a photo of the girls, who layered on just about everything they got and looked like a classic Canadian hoser-lumberjacks, if that’s even a thing.

So as a result, I’ve been on a bit of a blog vacation. It’s been nice, and I’m looking forward to coming back full speed again in January.

I just wanted to take a moment to wish you all a Happy New Year from Lifeovereasy. This is one of my favourite nights of the year. It’s the magic time – the year stretches out ahead, completely unwritten. Next year can still be anything you want.

I wanted to send out lots of love and good wishes to all of you. Thanks so much for dropping in and visiting our blog this year – we truly appreciate it every time you do. It’s all about you guys for us, and so we wanted to send out a little Lifeovereasy toast to you. I hope you have a glass of good cheer tonight with good friends, and welcome the New Year with big hopes and ideas for great new things.

Cheers, big ears!

thanks to Amani Hasan, who’s photo of fireworks I altered for the image above.
