The best part of our recent visit to Harrods was browsing through the new Boulangerie and Patisserie section in the Food Halls. This department only just opened in September, so our timing was perfect. Many of the delightful offerings are made in house fresh every day and the rest are provided by award winning suppliers like Fiona Cairns, Paul Hollywood, Lola’s Cupcakes, William Curley and Little Venice. It all looked delectable, and we thought at least 2 visits were necessary to properly sample a variety of sweets. We loved everything we tried, with the exception of the exquisite looking marshmallows. We couldn’t resist carefully carrying a selection home to Toronto to sample with the family. But they had an odd medicinal taste and a “wet” feel, and the verdict was unanimous: “hmmm….interesting….!” Everything else we tasted was delicious, from the pastries to the cupcakes to the croissants. And be sure not to miss the Chocolates & Confectionery and Candy sections for some added sweetness. The pictures speak for themselves – have a look!
