Hot Docs kicks off this week at the Bloor Cinema in Toronto. It is North America’s largest documentary film festival, presenting a selection of 150 plus cutting edge documentaries from around the world. It is a great collection of global perspectives, entertainment, hard core journalism, niche subject matter and fascinating story telling. There is something for everyone at this event and the quality and calibre of film making is world class. There are already a number of sold out shows although generally there is ‘rush’ seating available on the day of the event. Check out the line-up here and have a read through of film descriptions to see what might appeal to you. There is material for the entire family. The festival runs through to the 6th of May. I’ve got my eye of a couple of shows, but there is a wide variety of material so check it out, I’m sure you’ll be pleasantly surprised to add this to your “must” list from now on.
