Lovin’ Eataly

Posted by Nads on August 22, 2012

Every trip we make to NYC requires a visit to Eataly – the ultimate Italian mercato style eatery.  We always make sure to drop in at least once (usually twice if I have it my way) and never leave without a bag of specialty items to take back home.  If you’ve never been, Eataly is a vast feast for the senses.  Everywhere you look is there is amazing authentic Italian food, to savor on the spot or a ton of options to take away for sampling later on.  Many of the staples are made in house, using the freshest and most local ingredients.  These guys take Italian basics to a whole new level.  We love to grab a glass of wine and order a bunch of different dishes to share, and then wander through the stalls of amazing salumi, cheeses, breads and staples.  I could spend days in this place, there is quite never enough time to sample everything.  Check out my snaps from my last visit and make sure to add it to your must see list next time your in the city.

I went through EATALY the last time I was in NYC. It was gorgeous, but so packed we couldn’t find a spot to eat without a long wait and I was traveling with 2 pregnant friends so eating standing up wasn’t an option! I will definitely go back when I visit again in November.
