Enough said. I’ve had pie on my mind. Crispy crust and big flavor-filled-full of meat filling-meat pie on my mind. The kind of pie thoughts that make me want to get in the car and drive to south Etobicoke. Not much really makes me want to drive to Etobicoke but this pie does.
That’s really all you need to know. Meat pies are not a common gourmet destination but the line-up outside the doorway of this Queensway window piqued my interest and caused me to pull over on a drive by. Smack in the middle of a South Etobicoke industrial nowhere, there is a savory yummy smell in the air and a line up to boot. The Pie Commission, open just a couple of weeks, made me want to pull over. YUM, YUM, YUM! These are the best meat pies I have ever tried. If I wanted to dream up a homemade meat pie, this would be it. Flaky, buttery, crispy crust, jammed with a tasty meat interior. Is it possible I am in pie love? This place rocks, definitely a “must check out” rating.
Menu – some great choices, I had the short rib.
This was some serious meat pie delight.
This is what you need to look for – a little hidden but well worth looking for.
Get some pie from Olivia. Big snaps for great service with a great smile.
