Portobello Road Market

Posted by Dani on October 19, 2011

The first thing we did when we landed in London was hit up the Saturday market on Portobello Road in Notting Hill. This 300 year old market is a London institution and a well known tourist destination. There are many great markets in London a little more off the beaten track, but we thought it would be fun to check out the setting of one of our favourite Hugh Grant movies. A seemingly endless row of vendors line Portobello Road, and you can find your choice of antiques, retro memorabilia, street food, vintage and independent fashion, and booths filled with silver, china, and assorted odds and ends. We had a great afternoon here, and got started on our London crepe addiction. Check out this great military satchel we picked up.  Perfect since the saddlebag is this year’s must-have fall accessory!

Have a look at some of my other London posts:  London theatre district, Harrods Food Halls, and Harrods Sweetness.
