Spring Trendspotting: Outdoor Living Spaces

Here are some more of my HomeShow/Canada Blooms snaps.  There were so many ideas and inspirations for outside spaces, I couldn’t resist sharing.  Here are a couple of highlights:

1. Creating those the inside living spaces in the outdoors.  Furniture, lighting, accessories count.

2. Durability in materials for long term outside wear and tear.

3. Built in, permanent furniture and fixtures; there is no more putting stuff ‘in for the night’.

4. Excellent accessories, functional and permanent outdoor lighting and integrated sound features.

5. High end design, consideration for spaces and detail for outdoor areas, like never before.

Amazing rain chain idea – wouldn’t you say.  This will definitely be going up in my next space.  It is regular hardware chain hung off of hooks, lightweight, cheap and high impact.  What a fantastic idea to finish a wall or empty space.

I also love, love, love, the outdoor fireplace.  This looks like a great prospect for a DIY – I may have to take this on one.  Also, the use of concrete tiles and pea gravel/moss to create the outdoor flooring looks awesome.  Can’t wait to steal this idea.

I also love those outdoor fireplaces, saw them at the home show a couple years ago and I’ve been coveting them ever since… Ah I wish I could do an outdoor reno!!

  4. I love the idea of an outdoor living room but we have very little usable outdoor space. Would love to create something special to enjoy.

I love seeing what other people have done to make their outdoor spaces “homey”. The rain chain is really cool – I have never seen/heard of it before
