Dutch Dreams stands out from the storefronts of Vaughan Road with its eye-popping exterior.
It’s the kind of place that brings out the child in everyone, and leaves your eyes spinning. The interior is filled with an eclectic mix of just about everything from imported Dutch groceries to streamers and party lanterns (and of course, hanging cows). At 78 Vaughan Road in Toronto, this was the first stop on our tasty journey through blogTO’s list of the best ice cream shops in Toronto. What a great choice!
This discovery alone made the whole Ice Cream Quest idea worthwhile, although as far as quests go, searching for great ice cream is one that seems destined for success. As soon as we saw the over-the-top, kitschy exterior, we knew we were in for a treat. The best part is the handmade waffle cones in over-the-top flavours, including berry burst oreo, toasted almond, and spider man (??!!). In fact, “over-the-top” seems to be Dutch Dreams’ mission statement.
A family-owned business for 30 years, I can’t believe I have lived in Toronto my whole life without knowing about it.
Worth the trip, check it out!
