I am in love with this gem of a travel book by artist Nabil Sabio Azadi, who calls it a “human guide to the world.” Available in a limited edition of 200, this book is a directory of “kind people who will assist travellers through their region and bearing this guide.” Containing their names, stories, and contact numbers along with hand-drawn maps, Azadi essentially created a passport to wonderful and unique experiences in 5 continents. All of these individuals, from designers to shipwrights, are people who have agreed to act as a port of call for strangers in the spirit of kinship and adventure. The book itself is beautiful – designed, illustrated and hand-bound in wood and recycled fur by Azadi. But it is the idea behind it that is so compelling.
Azadi’s website says it is “made in the promotion of love and trust.” How beautiful is that.
