Did you stop into the Interior Design Show this past weekend? If you did, you know this is the place to be to discover new design talent, trends, concepts and innovative products – all the inspiration you need to see your space differently. And if you didn’t get a chance to pop into the Metro Toronto Convention Center, I’ve rounded up my top 10 picks below. But be sure to bookmark it for next year. You’ll love the speakers, exhibitors, and features like Designboommart, the international design market, and Studio North and Prototype that showcase emerging designers and independent studios.
Let’s have a look at some of the things that caught my eye. You’ll notice I focused mainly on furniture and lighting, probably because I’d love to update some of the pieces in my home. Starting with the lighting in the image above – the classic Nelson Bubble Pendants, available at EQ3. Like many beloved mid century designs, these lamps have design staying power and you’ll find they work in so many different spaces, making your investment worthwhile.
Next up, the Carrara marble-topped Kendall Dining Table, paired with a cognac leather bench and clean-lined wood armchairs, also by EQ3. Love the mix here, and you can personalize it with options galore. Change up the tabletop, chair colour, or the bench upholstery with 130+ choices of fabrics and leathers!
You can tell I really loved the EQ3 booth, where I found the next 2 picks as well. Here’s the Cello Sectional, that you can customize to suit your needs with different upholstery choices or configurations. I’m looking for a family room couch where we can all sprawl out, and this one fits the bill.
I also loved the Reclaimed Teak Low Dresser, made with wood salvaged from Java, Indonesia.
Heading out onto the Show floor, this gorgeous fixture from Lightmaker Studio caught my eye. Lovely, isn’t she?
Next up, this beauty from Montauk. Have you ever sat on a Montauk sofa? You softly sink into the most comfortable down-filled pillows. This one looks like it could definitely fit the whole fam-jam on movie night!
More lighting! These beauties are from Hennepinmade. I could use a few over my future kitchen island.
This stunning table from Merganzer Furniture is a work of art.
South Hill Home showed a stunning collection by Nika Zupanc, including the Stay Armchair and Smoke Coffee Table Set. Love!
Last, I always love a touch of Canadiana and what’s more Canadian than a canoe? I loved these colourful paddles by Norquay Co.
Make sure to catch the Toronto Interior Design Show next year – always around this time in January at the Metro Toronto Convention Center. Visit their site to see more of what you missed!
