Introducing Vionic, Your Foot’s New Best Friend

Posted by Dani on January 24, 2014

Vionic Shoes launch Spring 2014
Shoes are important. Balance, alignment and health are important. And looks are important.

But how often can you get all three in one package? That’s why we were psyched to be introduced to the Vionic line of shoes recently.

Trust me, when someone says “new shoes,” comfort is not the first thing that pops into my mind. Mainly because comfort and attractiveness don’t usually go together. But ask me after I’ve gone an agonizing hour in uncomfortable shoes, and it jumps way up the list.

Vionic Shoes Spring 2014

We all have our go-to ways of dealing with days when we are on our feet a lot. I’m sure you’ve seen someone tuck a pair of flip flops into their purse for when they need a little relief. The true test for me is when I can take a pair of shoes on a trip, and my feet still feel great after a long day of walking. Major bonus points if they look great with whatever I’m wearing. I’ve had a few trusty pairs like this over the years that I could not bear to throw away. And now I’ve found some replacements in the Vionic line.

These shoes were developed by podiatrist Phillip Vasyli when he realized he could build some of the benefits of custom orthodics into a regular shoe. They help balance pronation in your foot, and provide stability as you move. This improves the health of your feet, legs, and back. And this gets more and more important, folks, as the years go by! Trust me – I have the chiropractor bills to prove it.

I’m always interested in the science behind these kinds of claims. Here’s an interesting video that shows you exactly how these shoes correct excess pronation, and help solve all kinds of related health issues. The difference in alignment before and after using them is dramatic. It’s like having the benefits of expensive orthodics in an attractive, affordable pair of shoes.

The nicest thing with Vionic is that their styling is fun and trendy, and easy to integrate into your wardrobe. Who wouldn’t like a pair of animal-print wedges, or maybe some patent slides? And I thought the styles for guys were especially cute, so you should keep those in mind for you main man.

I’ve included some pics from the media kit, so you can get a feel for the look. There’s lots to choose from, including casual and running-type shoes. I have a pair of black slides I’ll be wearing around the clock this summer. Hopefully, I’ll be saying sayonara to my lovely chiropractor soon after.

I completely believe that so many issues stem from the feet. How awesome that there are shoes that can fix these problems that are attractive! (Being a size 11, I feel like so many shoes already look orthopedic!)

As I get, ahem, older, I find I need more tricks in my toolbasket. Things just seems to be “falling apart” a little more – yikes! Anything that helps at all is a win in my book.

  2. I totally need a pair of these babies! I have terrible feetand knee issues, but have always found shoes that are ‘good for me’ terribly ugly, these aren’t the case! Checking them out!

    • Dani says:

Anything that helps, right? I find I really appreciate more and more when I find things that help me stay healthy and fit EASILY. “Less effort” is a good mantra during these busy years.

  3. Bonnie Way says:

Comfort is huge for me for shoes – I want a pair I can wear all day without worrying about my feet. I have a few, like you, that I’ve worn to the ground because they are comfy and look great. Vionic’s shoes look really cute too so I’ll have to check them out! Thanks for the review. 🙂

    • Dani says:

Comfort is getting more and more important. I tend to avoid all my shoes that are not so comfortable. But I do like to look good too, if I can, so I was really happy to be introduced to this brand.

  4. I have heard many great things about Vionic, I have flat feet and think they may help with some of my aches.

    • Dani says:

I am always having issues here and there, and I am really hoping these shoes can help resolve some of that. Anything that helps, right?

  5. I use to suffer form Plantar Faciatis (still do if I don’t wear the correct shoes). I am a big believer in getting really good shoes. Thanks for all of this. I appreciate finding out about new products through a blog.

  6. I like the shoes the guy has on… they look really comfy!

  7. Brandi says:

I’ve never heard of Vionic but am off to check them out now! Their shoes sound so comfy and look so stylish!

  8. Pam says:

I am so picky about shoes – I can only wear flats and often find it difficult to find a pair that look cute, while being comfortable.

I’ve never heard of this brand either, but will be looking to find out more.

    • Dani says:

You’re right to be picky! Why not expect to have it all? I think we’ve become too used to compromising between looks and comfort. Keep your eyes peeled for these, I’m sure you’ll like them.

  9. Isabel M. says:

Some of those are really cute! Love the flats!

  10. Richard Maier says:

I really like the style the guy is wearing. Thanks for the tip!

  11. Christine says:

Oh!! Thanks for introducing Vionic to me!! They would be perfect for my Mom who has issues with her feet and would be GREAT for my back!! Gosh are the shoes ever stylish!! Love it!

  12. Jo-Anna says:

Oh I love the slides…if shoes can be comfortable and pretty then I’m all for it, because I live in shoes like that all summer long! Thanks for introducing me to Vionic!
